About Samagra Arograya

Samagra Arogya is a long-term place-based collaborative engagement to understand and respond to Social Determinants of Health at the Gram Panchayat level. First phase is situated in 7 Grama Panchayats in Kundapura Taluk namely Vandse, Idur Kunjnady, Hemmadi, Hakladi, Chittur, Aluru, and Keradi. The first phase focused on establishing local infrastructure, building networks, and understanding the place and its social determinants of health.

Objectives of Project 02

  1. Integrate the Samagra Arogya structure within the Vandse cluster.
  2. Empower communities to design, build, and maintain infrastructure related to health initiatives (called Local Infrastructure for Knowledge Exchange or LIKE).
  3. Focus on specific social determinants of health (SDoH) that affect:
    1. Mental wellbeing
    2. Adolescent health
    3. Occupational health
    4. Tuberculosis
  4. Explore how these SDoH can be addressed at the cluster level (all Gram Panchayats working together).
  5. Develop methods for sharing learnings and best practices to enable future expansion of the Samagra Arogya approach.
